Peugeot brought its first two electric offerings to the Australian market in 2023, starting with the light commercial van, the e-Partner and following it up with the e-2008 electric SUV.
Now, to kick off 2024, the French car maker has opened expression of interest for two more EVs. This time, it’s the e-308 electric hatchback along with another light commercial van, the e-Expert which will arrive in Australia along with the previously announced e-208.
The e-308 offers a unique hatchback design with the front having diagonal daytime running lights that will be hard to miss.
Peugeot describes the tail lights on the rear as having a “three-claw” design which helps it stand out from other hatchbacks on the market.
The e-308 is currently available in the UK with 410 km of WLTP range thanks to its 54 kWh battery pack. It’s powered by a 115 kW motor which can deliver up to 260 Nm of torque.
Pricing of the e-308 starts from £42,025 which is above what the Tesla Model 3 is priced that starts at £39,990.
Looking at the e-Expert, it’s a mid-sized van that offers more flexibility for those looking to carry cargo. It’s expected to have a comfortable ride with its electric drivetrain as seen on Peugeot’s currently available e-Partner van.
The e-Expert is currently offered in New Zealand with 339 km of WLTP range. It comes with a 100 kW electric motor which delivers 260 Nm of torque. Pricing of the e-Expert in the country starts at $NZ86,990 before on-roads.
For comparison, the smaller e-Partner starts at $NZ74,990, while in Australia it starts at $59,990.
Previously, Peugeot announced the smaller e-208 for local arrival this year. Expression of interest for the e-208 is also currently open.
Interested local customers can register their interest on the brand’s local website. All three vehicles will arrive locally in the second half of 2024.
Pricing and specifications on these models will be available closer to the launch date.
