Daimler Truck begins delivery of record order 900 electric eCanter trucks

Daimler Truck and its Japanese subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Bus and Truck have delivered the first of around 900 Fuso Next Generation eCanter electric trucks to Japanese delivery company Yamoto Transport.

The 2-tonne electric eCanter is the latest in a line of electric trucks originally launched by Fuso  in 2017 as Japan’s first mass-produced electric locally CO2-emission free light-duty truck.

Yamoto Transport already began operating 25 of the first generation eCanter back in 2017 and has now ordered around 900 units of the new eCanter to be deployed across Japan.

This marks the largest single order of the eCanter to date, and highlights the continued acceptance and performance of electric commercial vehicles around the globe.

“FUSO’s eCanter reduces the burden on drivers by offering them safe, low-vibration driving without emissions,” said Karl Deppen, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus.

Yamoto Transport is taking delivery of the massive order of eCanters under a Fuso Green Lease, a lease agreement which includes a tailormade eMobility ecosystem consisting of vehicle maintenance services and special warranties.

Fuso Green Lease is offered by Daimler Truck Financial Services Asia specifically for the new eCanter.
