Tesla has dominated the Australian EV landscape in 2023 with its two electric models, the Model Y and the Model 3 accounting for 29,511 sales so far in the year.

During July, Tesla sold nearly 4,000 cars in Australia with Model Y leading the charts and selling more in numbers than the Toyota Rav4.

Stepping into the second month of the quarter, this trend is continuing after confirmation from Tesla Owners Club Western Australia that the state has received the largest single shipment of Tesla vehicles.

A total of 749 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y have been unloaded in the last couple of days at the port in Fremantle. As per the post shared on Twitter/X, these vehicles came off the 200 m-long vehicle carrier, known as the Crystal Ace.

For many years, WA Tesla customers would have to wait for their cars to be transferred from the east coast to the west but with the increase in Tesla ownership across the state, dedicated ships are being sent to Fremantle.

On the back of this news, new Tesla customers took to social media to share that they are about to place an order for one since some of these models are eligible for WA government subsidies.

ā€œThat’s awesome. I’m placing an order for a Model 3 on Monday, hopefully there’s still places available for the $3500 gov rebate by the time I receive mine!ā€, one eager buyer said.

To support this expansion, Tesla also opened its fifth supercharger site in the state. Earlier this month, the Lancelin supercharger opened with three 250 kW V3 superchargers.Ā

This also shows the increasing demand for EVs in the state and also comes after the price cuts announced last month.Ā

Tesla started the third quarter of 2023 in Australia with a large price drop, making both the top-selling Model 3 and the Model Y electric vehicles the cheapest they have ever been. Ā Prices for both models across multiple variants were reduced by $3,500.

With Tesla continuing to expand its operation in Australia, it’s great to see increased delivery levels in multiple parts of the country.Ā

The demand for quality EVs is at an all-time high and with Tesla dominating the landscape, we’ll see thousands more on our roads in the coming months.
