Pre-orders have opened for the Fiat 500e electric hatchback which is expected to arrive in Australia later this year.
Many local interested buyers received an email from Fiat Australia this week advising them of the opening of pre-orders for the electrified version of this iconic Italian hatchback.
The cars can be pre-ordered by contacting a Fiat dealer, and they have a starting price ofĀ $52,500 before on-roads and state rebates.
A few external colours are on offer in Australia, including:
- Ice White
- Onyx Black
- Ocean Green
- Mineral Grey
- Rose Gold
- Celestial Blue
This is one of the smallest EVs to hit the Australian market so far and in dimensions, it is:
- Length: 3,631 mm
- Width: 1,683 mm
- Height: 1,529 mm
It also has four seats for passengers with up to 550L of boot space when the rear seats are down.
Looking at the powertrain, the 500e has a 87 kW front-mounted motor that powers the wheels with a peak Torque output is 220 Nm. It can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 9 seconds which is fairly respectable for an all-electric hatch.Ā
This powertrain is paired with a 42 kWh battery which can offer up to 311 km of WLTP range.
On charging, there is an onboard AC-charger which can add up to 11 kW where three-phase power and an appropriate charger is available. It can also DC charge at up to 85 kW which is fairly quick for a car with a small battery. This would make some shorter road trips a breeze.
Interested local customers can browse Fiatās website or visit a Fiat dealer to pre-order. The first arrivals of the 500e must not be too far as Fiat advised at the release of the specifications and pricing that the 500e will be available locally by mid-2023.
