Vision of one of Tesla’s fully electric Semi trucks, trailer attached, was captured on video last week, leaving a company office in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The mesmerising footage, which you can watch below (sound on), was posted to Reddit by user u/m3gusta_ on Friday, and has been doing the rounds of the interwebs ever since.
Mostly, people seem to be blown away by the otherworldly sound the semi’s electric drive train makes (or rather, doesn’t make) as it gathers speed – which it does remarkably quickly.
One blogger described it as sounding like “a spaceship taking off under heavy acceleration.”
And it looks pretty cool, too.

As Teslarati points out, actual Tesla Semis on the roads are still few and far between – CEO Elon Musk had flagged commercial production to start sometime in 2019, but it the company is now said to be looking at beginning production in earnest by 2020.
