A litle more than  two years after the local Tesla owners club pleaded with Elon musk (via Twitter of course), for their first supercharger station, it has finally opened in Karrinyup.

The six supercharging stations will be a welcome boost to the Perth Tesla community, who sent a Tweet to Musk in 2019 pleading for a supercharging station. “OK”, Musk replied.

Mark Tipping, president of the Tesla Owners Club of Australia, said the club is delighted about the arrival of the first Supercharger station in Perth.

“Driving an electric vehicle is a fantastic way to contribute towards lowering Western Australia’s carbon emissions. It’s great that these Superchargers are positioned in such a handy location at Karrinyup. This is a really positive step for WA’s Tesla owners, and I hope will encourage others to think about driving an electric vehicle.”

The Supercharger station was formally opened on Thursday, coinciding with the major launch of Karrinyup Stage One shopping project.
